BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox and The Foundation for the Advancement of Music & Education, Inc. (FAME) announce today a partnership for the 2012 season. In honor of the Baysox 20th season, the team has partnered with FAME and other local organizations to give back to the community that has been supporting the Baysox for the past two decades.
The goal of the program is to provide a donation back to the organization through advance ticket sales for a select game during the season. On Wednesday, Mar. 21, supporters of FAME will be able to visit www.baysox.com and purchase tickets to the Baysox home game Thursday, May 17 at 7:05 p.m., using the special code FAME. Half of the proceeds from the ticket sales during that special 24-hour window will be donated back to the group.
“The Baysox have been honored to be a part of Bowie, as well as a part of the greater Central Maryland community for the last 20 years,” said Community Programs Manager Kate Milstead. “Our goal with this program is to create a unique fundraising experience for area non-profit groups to celebrate the diversity and strength of the local community. We could not have reached this landmark season without the good will and support of those closest to us, so now it is our turn to give back as part of this season-long commemoration.”

The Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education, Inc. (FAME) is a community, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, based in Bowie MD, dedicated to providing equal access to outstanding young performing and visual artists who are disproportionately affected by their social and economic backgrounds. FAME nurtures, supports, and encourages young people to express themselves through musicianship, vocals, visual art, humanities, and performance theatre. This partnership between FAME and the Baysox will further foster community outreach to a diverse group of citizens.
