The Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education, Inc. (FAME) in partnership with the Prince George's Reading Council, is sponsoring A Family Literacy Day at the Theatre, a fun educational bus trip for children. They will experience the world premiere of Mirandy and Brother Wind, a new African-American children's musical. Mirandy and Brother Wind, produced by the Adventure Theatre and the African Continuum Theatre, is adapted from the Caldecott Honor and Coretta Scott King Award winning book of the same name.The musical, which has an African-American cast and production team, has received awards from the Maryland State Arts Council, the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and The National Endowment for the Arts.
